best time to go there wud be from apr til aug. but the room's rate are slightly higher or haiyer..about 10 to 20% more but still around rm70 to rm150 (in perhentian kecil)
take a bus from stesen putra to marang. the boat ride from jeti marang will cost u rm60 return. if u r taking a flight, go to kota bharu instead of kuala trengganu as marang is closer to kbr. the cab frm the airport will cost u around rm70 per cab.

i believe it was merang, not marang.
marang is where you go to catch a boat to pulau kapas.
and marang is just on the outskirt of kuala terengganu, unlike merang whiches like 1-2 hours drive from the city
